It has been difficult but very gratifying to feel like I am really putting my public health studies into practice. Nothing really prepares you for this type of situation but having such a strong foundation from Penn/HSOC in researching, seeking out expert opinions, and thinking critically about how to apply findings to our context here in rural Guatemala has helped me a lot.
