Claudia Cohen Hall
Claudia Cohen Hall was named in 2008 after the late Claudia Cohen (1950-2007), a Penn alumna, popular journalist, and former wife of trustee Ronald Perelman. Formerly known as Logan Hall (1906-2008) the building was the second building constructed by the University on its West Philadelphia campus and stands adjacent and just west of College Hall. It opened for use as the University’s Medical School in 1874. Originally known as Medical Hall, it was later home to the Wharton School and now houses the College of Arts and Sciences. It was renovated in 1996 with designs by Thomas W. Richards and Venturi Scott Brown as part of the Perelman Quad project, toward which Perelman donated 20 million dollars. It is on the National Register for the University of Pennsylvania Historic District.
