Jim Endersby has won the 2011 Stafleu Medal from the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT), for his book Imperial Nature: Joseph Hooker and the Practices of Victorian Science. 

This award is given "For an excellent publication dealing with historical, bibliographic and/or nomenclatural aspects of plant systemtics", and this particular award covers the years 2008-2010 (the Medal is given every three years).  Selection of awardees for the Stafleu Medal was done by the Honors Committee of the IAPT consisting of David Mabberley (Chair, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew), Rudolf Schmid (University of California, Berkeley), Walter Lack (Botanical Garden and Museum, Berlin), and Peter Stevens (Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis).
